# Google App campaign

Google App campaigns show your app across Search, Play, YouTube, Discover and partner apps. Google builds the ads from your store listing. This skill fills in the wizard in the user's own logged-in Chrome and stops before publishing.

Needs Claude in Chrome (Claude Code: `claude --chrome`) with the user logged in to Google Ads. TalkToAds isn't required. Full walkthrough with screenshots: https://talktoads.com/blog/google-app-campaign-claude-code

## Ask first

- App package name or store URL, and platform (Android or iOS. One campaign per platform.)
- Country (one to start) and language
- Daily budget the user is comfortable with

## Steps

1. Go to `https://ads.google.com/aw/campaigns/new`. Click **App promotion**.
2. Keep campaign type **App**. Rename the campaign `<App> | <Android/iOS> | <Country> | Installs`.
3. Subtype **App installs** (App engagement needs 50k+ installs). Choose the platform.
4. In **Look up your app**, type the package name, click the matching result, click **Continue**.
5. **Location:** choose the one country. **Language:** the listing language. Leave view-through conversions on. **Next**.
6. **Headlines:** 5, max 30 characters each, each one standalone. After typing each one, press **Escape**. The "Ideas" dropdown otherwise catches the next click. Read the values back to confirm they saved.
7. **Descriptions:** 3–5, max 90 characters each. Skip images/videos on the first run if the user has none. Google uses the store listing. **Next**.
8. **Bidding:** focus **Install volume**, conversion = the auto-created "<App> installs" action, users **All users**. Tick **Set a target cost per install** and click **Apply** on Google's suggested value.
9. **Budget:** must be **at least 50× the target cost per install**. Google warns "Your budget is too low…" otherwise, and the campaign barely serves. Either raise the budget, or lower the target to budget ÷ 50. Tell the user which one you did. **Next**.
10. **Review:** take a screenshot, list every setting, and **stop**. Publish only after the user says yes in chat.

## Rules

- Never type passwords, card numbers or 2-step codes. If Google asks to confirm it's you, or the account needs funds, hand over to the user.
- Never click **Publish campaign** without a yes.
- Prepaid accounts: check the balance before publishing. A campaign with no funds publishes fine and never serves.
- After publishing, don't change bids or budget for 3–5 days. Every change restarts learning.

## From Sanskar's ad account

The MagicSlides Android campaign went live on 24 Oct 2026 at $1.20 a day (₹100) with a $0.03 target cost per install. Day one: **3 impressions, 0 clicks, $0 spent**. 50 × $0.03 = $1.50, more than the budget. The wizard shows the warning only if you look at the bidding section after setting the budget. Step 9 is there so you don't lose a week finding this out.
