# Boost a reel to sales

Reels that already get views organically are the cheapest ads you'll ever run. Meta has already found out who watches them. This skill puts money behind one and points it at a page that sells.

Needs the TalkToAds connector (Meta) and an Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page.

## Steps

1. **Pick the reel.** If the user pasted a link, use it. If not, call `list_instagram_posts` and suggest the 3 reels with the most views and comments in the last 30 days. A reel that made people comment "link" or "how" is the best candidate.

2. **Pick the page.** Ask for the landing page URL. It must match the reel. If the reel is about running ChatGPT ads, the page sells the ChatGPT ads course, not your homepage. Add UTMs: `?utm_source=meta&utm_campaign=<reel-topic>&utm_content=reel`.

3. **Pick the goal.**
   - Selling something on a page with a pixel: `goal: "sales"` with the `pixel_id` (call `list_pixels` to find it).
   - No pixel yet: `goal: "traffic"`. Say clearly that this optimises for clicks, not buyers.

4. **Pick the budget.** Ask for it. If the user has no idea, suggest the price of one sale per day, with at least ₹500/day for sales. Below that Meta can't learn.

5. **Create it paused.** Call `boost_instagram_post` with the reel, link, daily_budget, goal, pixel_id, `countries` (ask; default India), age 18–65 and `call_to_action: "LEARN_MORE"`.

6. **Show the summary and wait.** Show campaign, ad set and ad names, budget, goal, audience, CTA and link. Only after a clear yes, call `go_live` on the campaign.

7. **Set the review date.** Tell the user to judge it after 3 full days on real revenue (see the real-roas-check skill), not on Meta's first-day numbers.

## Rules

- Use `LEARN_MORE`. Some CTAs, like "See more", don't run on Instagram placements at all. Check the Instagram preview before going live.
- Broad targeting first (country + age). Add interests only if the product is very niche.
- Reels beat static images for the same offer. Try a reel before you design image ads.
- Everything is created paused. Never call `go_live` without a yes in chat.

## From Sanskar's ad account

On 12 Oct 2026 a new campaign with 5 designed image ads went live next to a reel ad for the same course. The images were paused the same evening. The reel (an existing one that already did well organically) was running at about 2x on Meta's numbers. The reel is still the main ad for that course.

An ad with a "See more" CTA once didn't show on Instagram at all, because Meta doesn't run that CTA there. For a reel ad, Instagram is where most of the audience is. That's why this skill defaults to `LEARN_MORE`.
